buck up for back to school at bash
Students entering grades K - 5 can bid farewell to summer and gear up for the back-to-school season at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church’s Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 14. Youngsters and their families can have fun with inflatables, face painting, music, games and more. Proceeds from a silent auction will benefit Millersville Elementary and Goodlettsville Elementary. Kids will receive goody bags and there will also be giveaways. Find the church at 113 Church St., Goodlettsville. The bash takes place from 5 - 8:30 p.m. and admission is free. pottery for kids at woodland gallery
Youngsters can get their hands dirty in fun fashion and put their creativity to the test with pottery classes at Hendersonville’s Woodland Gallery. Classes are available for beginner and advanced levels, and participants can choose from private lessons or group classes in three- or six-week options. Woodland also offers a scout troop workshop, and beginning mid-August, the gallery will include classes for homeschoolers as well as an after-school program. Prices and times vary by option. Families with kids ages 3 months - 9 years can check out the popular gymnastics and developmental play program, play games, catch a puppet show, have a Bubblestorm blast, tour the facility and meet the staff, and more.
