Adventureworks Zip Tours

Adventureworks offers two exciting local zip line excursions at Kingston Springs and at Fontanel in Nashville.

What kid (or adult) doesn’t dream of flying?! You can experience the rush on a zip line tour with Adventureworks. The thrill-seeking company has two exhilarating zip excursions high in the canopy at two locations: its home base in Kingston Springs and the newer Music City Zip at the Mansion at Fontanel (country star Barbara Mandrell’s former homestead).

Adventureworks has been around for more than 30 years offering motivational and recreational team building to corporate clients. Several years ago, the destination became more family friendly with the addition of the zip line course.

For ages 6 and older (there’s a weight limit of 275 pounds), both guided tours harness you up and take you deep into wooded areas where you’ll get to soar across lines offering spectacular views and the sensation of flight. Each line varies in length and height — up to 85 feet high and more than 800 feet long! Kingston Springs has nine lines, while Fontanel has eight. There’s a bit of hiking involved, and the Kingston Springs spot is a bit more family friendly if you’ve got young kids; there’s a good dose of strenuous hiking up steep terrain at Fontanel — it’s a great workout!

Each consecutive line is longer and higher off the ground that the one prior, and a couple of them at the Kingston Springs location start so high in a tree that you simply step off a platform and glide away — AWESOME! Have fun testing your bravery by zipping hands-free or leaping off a platform backward. Traveling through the air at speeds ranging from 30 – 40 miles per hour high above the ground is simply breathtaking and pure fun. Both locations feature a dual zip where you have fun racing a buddy to the other side.

Tours are available daily at both locations. The main location is at 1300 Narrows Road, Kingston Springs (615-297-2250). Fontanel is located at 4225 Whites Creek Pike, Nashville (615-724-1600). Admission is $56 adults ($59 at Fontanel), $48 ages 17 and younger.

The Kingston Springs location also offers a monthly Full Moon Zip Tour ($65) where you can enjoy zipping under the light of the moon. There’s a Haunted Forest Zip Tour ($65) coming Oct. 23, 30 and 31 that comes with an eerie stories and perhaps a glimpse of the Montgomery Bell ghost!

Find tour times and make reservations for both locations at adventureworks.com.
