Auditions for “Aladdin Jr.”

Be a part of a whole new world when you audition for a role in the production of Disney's Aladdin Jr. at the Arts Center of Cannon County.

Auditions for the Arts Center of Cannon County’s production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. take place Dec. 17 and 18 at 4:30 p.m. (only attend one date). It’s part of their School Matinee Series and roles are available for students in grades 4 – 12 only. All cast members must be 18 years old or younger. To audition, prepare 16 – 32 bars (about a verse and a chorus) of a Disney or musical theatre song. You must bring sheet music clearly marked and in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided, but will not transpose on the spot. You may also sing with an instrumental track. There will also be a speaker and auxiliary cord on hand — bring your own adapter. There will be no a capella auditions. Be prepared for possible cold readings from the script, too. In addition, everyone who auditions takes part in the dance call, so wear or bring comfortable clothing and shoes. Don’t forget to bring your headshot and resume if possible!

Callbacks take place Wednesday, Dec. 19. Rehearsals begin after Christmas. Please come prepared with a list of your scheduling conflicts from Dec. 26 – March 16, as no new conflicts are accepted after the audition process (and no conflicts are accepted after Feb. 24).

Performances are weekdays for schools, so those cast must be able to miss at least three days of school. Performance Dates are March 5 – 7 and 12 – 14 at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. for schools; March 9 and 16 at 2 p.m. for the public. For any questions about auditions contact Lindsey Duggin at
