Beyond Rubik’s Cube Opens June 2

A cool new exhibit and a thrifty new discount program at Adventure Science Center.

In 1975, Professor Erno Rubik patented the Rubik’s Cube, the world’s most successful puzzle game that more than 40 years later is still a cultural icon.

A new exhibit at Adventure Science Center (ASC) celebrates the wonder of the toy by tapping into lots of science and engineering fun along the way. Beyond Rubik’s Cube runs June 2 – Sept. 3, and it offers lots of hands-on exploration for kids (and adults) of all ages.

EXPLORING THE EXHIBIT

Study the original Rubik’s Cube prototype before creating 3D puzzles of your own similar to what Professor Rubik used in his early prototype tools.

Everyone’s sure to hop in line to take a whirl at the Giant Cube. Here, guests can manipulate a working Rubik’s Cube the size of a car!

The youngest in your family can explore color and pattern matching through hands-on games and activities.

Pop over to the Cube Symphony area where twisting and turning a cube creates music.

Having trouble solving the Rubik’s Cube on your own? Hand if off to a special robot to watch it solve the cube in seconds.

ASC’S NEW TWILIGHT SPECIAL

ASC is located at 800 Fort Negley Blvd., Nashville. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $15.95 adults, $11.95 ages 2 – 12.

ASC rolls out a new Twilight Special starting Saturday, June 2. Anyone purchasing on-site admission two hours prior to closing time gets free admission the following day by showing their receipt.
