Swingin' Saturdays! Centennial Park is the place to be to kick up your heels on Saturday nights, June - August.
Free family fun is always a welcome treat, and it’s even better when it’s a big to-do! This year marks the 35th anniversary of the popular Big Band Dances in Nashville’s Centennial Park (2500 West End Ave., Nashville).
Each Saturday, June – August (no dance on June 30), you and your kids can head over to the park’s Event Shelter from 7 – 10 p.m. Group dance lessons, courtesy of Nashville Ballroom & Company, take place from 7 – 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 – 8:50 p.m.
Each week features a different dance style and different live band while you kick up your heels.
You can bring a picnic basket or take advantage of this year’s new food truck offerings. Two trucks will be on site each week — one savory and one sweet. In addition, a snow cone stand will be scooping refreshing cold treats.
Here’s this year’s complete lineup:
The Establishment (swing)
The Jazz Alliance (waltz)
The Moonlighters (rumba)
South Jackson Street Band (tango)
Guardians of Swing (swing)
Debbi Bailes & Her Band (foxtrot)
The Paul Ross Orchestra (waltz)
Radio Daze (swing)
The Merchants of Cool (rumba)
The Lynn Beal Band (foxtrot)
