Free Fishing Day for Kids

by |

Fishing pole? Check. Bait? Check. A kid dying to give fishing a try? Check! Pack 'em up and head out for a free fishing day — no permit required!

Don’t have a fishing permit? No worries! Kids ages 18 and younger can enjoy the second annual free fishing day with the Riverdale FFA at Lane Agri-Park on Saturday, June 16 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Catch & Clean!

At this nearly two-acre pond, there’s plenty of room for your family to come out and fish. The pond is stocked with large mouth bass and catfish that are at least a pound-and-a-half big! There are other kinds of fish in the pond, too. All you have to do is bring a pole and tackle or live bait to fish with. The ground around the pond may be soggy, so be sure to bring a chair. Members of the Riverdale FFA will show kids how to clean a fish to cook up for dinner, too.

Lane Agri-Park is located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd., Murfreesboro.

Learn more about the Riverdale FFA at riverdale.ffanow.org or the event on facebook.com.

Ready to fish for more? Get your permit and head to one of these great fishing holes in the area.
