Hendersonville Arts Council Arts After School

by |

Sumner County kids can get creative with art classes in the afternoons at Hendersonville's Monthaven.

Your kids can get their creative juices flowing with the Hendersonville Arts Council’s Arts After School program for ages 6 and older. A variety of classes take place once a week for $50 per month (there’s also a one-time $50 supply fee).

Monday – Thursday classes cover art mediums like painting, print making, drawing, clay, color theory, line, shape and form. This year includes two new offerings:

Tuesdays (grades 4 – 6) & Thursdays (grades 7+)
This specialized drawing course covers all the techniques of professional animé illustration. It includes shading, perspective, line work, figure drawing, animé faces/facial expressions, figure proportion and more.

Wednesdays (grades 4+)
In this drawing course, kids can use their imaginations to design fantasy creatures. They’ll also learn how to recreate animals and characters from video games, books, TV and movies of their choosing.

All classes take place from 4:30 – 6 p.m. at the Monthaven Arts & Cultural Center (1017 Antebellum Cir., Hendersonville).
