Experience an old-time lesson in the fabric arts.
The back-to-basics trend is real! Plenty of parents want their kids to know how to do simple things like hammer a nail or sew a skirt. Well, let your homeschooler step back with a Homeschool Winter Day Class: Wool, Flax and Lucet on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Historic Mansker’s Station from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
What’s In Store
Children will learn how wool and flax were made into everyday clothing while working the processes of carding wood to breaking the flax.
Kids will also learn about the lucet, a horn-shaped tool dating back to the Viking era that was commonly used throughout the 17th century.
