Life … Please SLOW DOWN!

by |

When life just really needs to slow down ... put on your seat belt and prepare for a bumpy road!

You’ve probably said this before, too, huh? Yeah, the kids are growing up way to fast and coming into their own sort of mind and ways of thinking. Sure, they’re still cute and innocent, but sometimes you’ve just gotta wonder about them.

One minute your youngest is doing something WAY out of the normal silliness … like sticking his head in the toilet to “wash his hair!” Yep, mine did that. Then it comes time for him to start to realize that he likes … dare I say it? … boobs. Yep, he very happily reported to me today that he loves them! Well, OK then! This conversation continues with, “Mommy, do you have a pee pee?” So, we then go over that topic again, because it’s not the first time he’s asked about it. I’ve known for some time now that he’s been drawn to big chested women, too. He will just stare at their chest, even while talking to them, and then begin to try to touch them! Horror has struck me several times with this act, but thank goodness it was family involved and not a total stranger. He seems to show more curiosity in boy and girl body features than my oldest child has ever shown.

Sure, she was curious at first (my oldest one). But, as she has grown older, she’s not really gotten that much more interested in them. Of course, they’ve both asked (repeatedly) where babies come from. I’ve just put that question off for a little bit longer. I’m just not ready for that yet. This is where I’ve asked LIFE to please SLOW DOWN! Everyone’s always telling you to cherish the moments while they’re young because it all goes by so fast. Yeah, NO KIDDING!

HOWEVER! … No one ever told me to start preparing for the tough questions while pregnant. It seems that it was just yesterday that I had my children and now they’re in need of more information and want to learn more about their bodies. I spent all my time playing with them, having fun and all, not once even coming to terms with myself that one day this will come. It seems to be arriving faster these days, too. Kids learn about things from school kids, see stuff they shouldn’t … the list goes on.

So, I warn you now … if you’re expecting … start preparing for this moment NOW. It’ll be here sooner than you think!
