The 19th Annual Turkey Trot in Franklin is Thanksgiving Day + lots of other reasons to run!

The month of giving thanks gives your family a great reason to give back. From fun runs to Thanksgiving day 5K outings, you can help a great cause while getting your cardio in. Some runs that have registration fees offer discounted rates if you sign up in advance.

FRIDAY, NOV. 9

2018 VETERAN’S RUN
Triple Creek Park, Gallatin
Registration: $15
The QSA Foundation hosts this 5K run/walk.

SATURDAY, NOV. 10

NASHVILLE MARATHON
First Tennessee Park, Nashville
Registration: $55 for the 5K, $95 for the half, $100 for the full, $340 for full relay
Run a full, half or 5K course supporting Gilda’s Club of Middle Tennessee.

A VERY MERRY 5K
Berry Hill District, Nashville
Registration: $35 ages 6+, free ages 5 & younger
This inaugural 5K supports Gilda’s Club of Middle Tennessee. Done your festive holiday attire — awards given for most merry costume and more.

HIKE FOR THE HOMELESS
Edwin Warner Park, Nashville
Registration: Free (garner pledges)
Garner pledges and hike to raise money for Safe Haven Family Shelter. It’s stroller and pet friendly, plus there’s live music and kids’ activities.

DECADE DASH
Douglass-Clark House, Gallatin
Registration: $25 – $30
This benefit for the Sumner Teen Center encourages participants to dress in attire from their favorite decades. Flower power, disco, flapper, ’80s rocker, you name it. The choice is yours. This year’s event includes prizes for best costumes. The outing includes a five-mile timed route along with a 5K and one-mile fun run. The Decade Dash is the main fundraising event for Sumner Teen Center. The proceed help cover the center’s basic operating costs for the free programs it provides to all middle and high school teens in Sumner County.

SATURDAY, NOV. 17

BOBCAT BOLT
John Overton High School, Nashville
Registration: $12 in advance, $15 race day
This first-ever 5K helps raise money for  community schools. There’s also a 1/4-mile fun run for ages 12 & younger.

BREATHE DEEP STACHE & LASH
Shelby Bottoms Park, Nashville
Registration: $25 adults, $10 kids, free for lung cancer survivors
This race raises awareness and funds for lung cancer research.

THANKSGIVING DAY (THURSDAY, NOV. 22)

MUSIC CITY THANKSGIVING DAY RACE
Nissan Stadium, Nashville
Registration: $35 – $45
Trot along the four-mile course to benefit The Bridge, a local organization that serves the food insecure, poor and homeless.

19TH ANNUAL TURKEY TROT & KIDS FUN RUN
Prairie Life Fitness, Franklin
Registration: $45 for the 10K, $40 for the 5K, $13 for the kids’ fun run
Start off the holiday with this race benefiting Graceworks Ministries. Thanksgiving/turkey-themed costumes encouraged!

BORO DASH
MTSU Track and Field Stadium, Murfreesboro
Registration: $40 – $45
A four-mile race benefiting local charities, including Greenhouse Ministries, Possibility Place and Neema House.

BOULEVARD BOLT
The Temple, Nashville
Registration: $40 – $70
A five-mile race down Belle Meade Boulevard to raise money for local homeless charities.

INDIAN LAKE LOOP
The Streets of Indian Lake, Hendersonville
Registration: $30
Choose a 5K or five-mile course during this benefit race for COMPASS.

NASHVILLE TURKEY TROT
Wave Country, Nashville
Registration: $30 – $70
Choose an 8K or 8-mile course with cinnamon roll at the finish line. Benefits the ALS Association Tennessee Chapter.
