SoundWaves Water Park Opens in December at Gaylord Opryland

by |

Just in time for a winter stay-cation, Gaylord Opryland is sets its eyes on the opening date of its brand-new SoundWaves indoor/outdoor water attraction!

You read that right! Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center is putting the finishing touches on SoundWaves as we speak. It’s a four-acre, three-level upscale indoor/outdoor water park that’s set to open Saturday, Dec. 1. However, it’s only open to guests who book the SoundWaves Water Experience overnight package. The water attraction has limited capacity to prevent overcrowding for a more relaxed and comfortable experience. Sounds like a good stay-cation to us!

All Ages Fun

The 111,000-square-foot indoor water park features a slide tower, Double FlowRider, rapid and lazy rivers as well as an activity pool with rock climbing, obstacle course and basketball. The multi-level play structures inside and outside are ideal for children. However, swim diapers are required for all children who are not toilet trained. The 106,000-square-foot outdoor water park features a 315,000 gallon wave pool with a giant LED movie screen, a kids pool with a multi-level play structure and more.

Other slides to look forward to include tube slides, body slides, family raft ride and more! If you forget your sunscreen, don’t worry. The SoundWaves gift shop has that and more for all your needs.

Adults will love that the indoor water experience features an adults-only infinity pool, bar and seating on the third floor. The outdoor water experience includes an adults-only flat water pool area, too.

Once open, SoundWaves has daily hours of operation (specific times TBA). Towels are available at SoundWaves, but you might want to bring your own beach towel because you can’t take the resort’s towels out of the water attraction area. There are lifeguards on duty at each attraction at SoundWaves, too. There are also cabanas to rent. Each seat up to six guests, and conjoining cabanas are available for up to 12 guests. Cabanas include four bottles of water and use of a refrigerator and TV.
